Uhhh...

Do you ever answer questions that your children ask with this response, "Uhhh..." hoping that they're typical attention span of a gnat will distract them with something before you have a chance to answer? I did that tonight, while watching Secret Millionaire, when Ryan asked me why there were so many babies at this house. It was a home for teen moms.

So I said, "it's a place where young girls who get pregnant can go and get help and have a place to live".

Ryan said, "what about their husbands?"

To which I responded, "They don't have husbands, they are just teenagers".

Then Ryan asked, "well how did they get pregnant if they don't have a husband?"

And here is where I responded with the ever so wise answer of, "Uhhh..."

Can't our kids just stay young and innocent forever? I don't know how I feel about all this growing up business...
